LT Matthew Kuchta
It is my pleasure to introduce myself as the new Veterans Affairs Coordinator at Western Connecticut State University.
I graduated from Western Connecticut State University in May 2010 with a B.S. in Justice and Law Administration and I am currently serving as the Fire Support Officer for A Co. 1/102nd IN MTN, CTARNG, soon to be moving to the new Armed Forces Readiness Center here in Danbury, CT.
Western Connecticut State University has improved dramatically since I attended and I am excited for the direction the school is headed. The University has taken action on improving its Veteran support, addressing key factors associated with a successful veteran program such as assigning a dedication position of Veterans Affairs Coordinator. This new position will greatly improve the level of service that can be provided to our Veteran Community. I will be working very diligently to certify enrollment for the VA in a timely-manner, follow-up with all questions and concerns you may have, and create programs devoted to Student-Veterans and their families. With your support, WCSU will become a role model for Universities across the United States.
My office is dedicated to provide care for all student-veterans, reservists, and National Guard Soldiers to ensure a smooth transition to student life. We will assist with issues such as VA educational benefits, financial aid, academic preparedness, health and wellness, socialization, and also advise the Student-Veterans Organization.
I am familiar with the uniqueness of current and former Service Members and I am excited to serve each of you. You now have a fellow service member here to help; please, do not hesitate to ask for assistance. My office is located on the Midtown Campus in Old Main 206. I can be reached by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at (203) 837-8840. Thank you for your service and sacrifice.
