Howard Kilik – Adjunct Instructor/University Assistant (Music Director, Musical Theatre Coach/Accompanist)
Howard Kilik (Adjunct Instructor) is a freelance pianist, conductor and composer affiliated with many educational institutions throughout the New York Region. Positions include University Assistant at Western Connecticut State University and 18 years as resident composer and pianist at Vassar College.
As composer, many works have been written for the Linda Duci Dance Ensemble and for the Vassar Repertory Dance Theater. The score to Dream debuted to critical acclaim in Charleston, SC during the 1986 Spoleto Festival. Noah and the Gremlins was read at the York Theatre and Shirley Girl is a work in progress.
Music Director credits include: Head Over Heels, 1940s Radio Hour, The Drowsy Chaperone, Little Women and Chicago at WCSU, 6 productions at the Emelin Theater, as well as many Vassar College and Westchester Community College productions. He has also conducted at Fordham University and Carnegie Hall and did the choral preparation for Carmina Burana at the Performing Arts Center at Purchase College. Other credits include extensive Summer Stock, regional and community productions.
As pianist, Howard has subbed on and off Broadway for such shows as A Chorus Line, Phantom of the Opera and Nunsense, and has been a member of Comedy Express and The Players, improvising at the keyboard and supporting the comedy.
Howard received his MM and BM Composition at Juilliard.
