DANBURY, CONN. — The Western Connecticut State University department of theatre arts will perform “Schoolhouse Rock Live!” based on the Emmy Award-winning, 1970s animated series that taught history, grammar, math, science and politics through song. The performance will feature the show’s classic songs such as “Lolly, Lolly, Lolly,” “I’m Just a Bill” and “Conjunction Junction.”

“Schoolhouse Rock Live!” performances will be at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 4, 2012; 3 and 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2012; and 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 6, 2012, in the Berkshire Theatre on the university’s Midtown campus, 181 White St. in Danbury. The public is invited. Tickets will be $10 plus fees. WCSU students with a valid I.D. will be admitted free.

The WCSU cast includes Jim Goggin, of Naugatuck as Tom; Anna Giordano, of Clinton, as Dori; Casey Miko, of Stratford, as Shulie; Vincent McCoy, of Torrington, as Joe; Mick Gloss, of Stratford, as George; Michelle O’Konis, of Stratford Springs, as Dina; Rachel Fournier, of Shelton, as Rachel; Tara Llewellyn, of Brookfield, as Tara; and Corinne Marshall, of Prospect, as Corinne. The rock ensemble includes Theresa Curran, of Shelton; Katrina Sebastian, of Mossup; Carly Hodosi, of Shelton; Anna Morse, of Cheshire; Alicia Augeri, of Middletown; Willie Marte, of Danbury; Kyle Attanasio, of Shelton; Mike Hoey, of Naugatuck; Anthony Paparello, of Bristol; and Ty McCombe, of Vernon.

The crew will include Pam McDaniel and Sal Trapani as producers, Frank Herbert as technical director, Elizabeth Popiel as artistic consultant, Tom Cuffari as musical director, Corey Pumroy as costume designer, Suzie Immarigeon as lighting designer, Kim Girardi as set and prop designer, Paul Dente as sound design, Bri Sassone as hair and make-up designer and Laura O’Donoghue as stage manager.
