Philanthropy Day provides options to give to WestConn

DANBURY, CONN. — Western Connecticut State University will launch its annual appeal for support with Philanthropy Day on Tuesday, Sept. 16.

On this day, university faculty and staff, and members of the larger community, will be invited to contribute to the university. Dr. G. Koryoe Anim-Wright, WestConn’s vice president for Institutional Advancement, emphasized that contributions allow the university to make a difference in the lives of students every day.

“Financial gifts are always appreciated,” Anim-Wright said. “But so are contributions like mentoring, volunteering to call potential donors, or working with staff at an alumni event. If you want to support WestConn, we will work with you to provide a convenient way to give that is consistent with your own goals.”

Staff from WestConn’s Office of Institutional Advancement will be available in Warner Hall on WestConn’s Midtown campus, 181 White St., Danbury, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sept. 16. Attendees will be invited to share conversations and view poster presentations highlighting the value of contributions and showcasing the ways gifts support the university. Refreshments will be provided.
