2015 Police officers honored by Connecticut MADD

DANBURY, CONN. — Two members of the Western Connecticut State University Police Department were honored in May 2015 in New Britain by Connecticut Mothers Against Drunk Driving (M.A.D.D.) for their efforts to prevent motorists from driving while intoxicated on and near campus.

Officers Luis DosSantos, of Wolcott, and Trevor Burke, of Waterbury, were recognized for their “commitment and contributions to eliminate drunk driving” during the 29th Annual Connecticut M.A.D.D. Law Enforcement Recognition Ceremony. DosSantos, a 10-year member of the WCSU Police Department, and Burke, a WCSU police officer for 11 years, also received praise for their use of education, community involvement and training.

WCSU Police Captain Roger Connor said, “Both officers exemplify the professionalism of the Western Police Department and this recognition from M.A.D.D. acknowledges the seriousness of preventing drunk and impaired driving and substance abuse on campus, and in the community at large.”
