WestConn student’s newly released book offers an offbeat celebration of Women’s History Month
DANBURY, CONN. — She may not be human, but “Alice in Wonderland” is as real it comes and she will be part of the Women’s History Month at Western Connecticut State University.
WestConn student Jamison Odone will be on campus on Tuesday, March 9, from 4 to 5 p.m. to sign copies of his just-released book, “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.” The book is the first in his “Stickfiguratively Speaking” series from PublishingWorks Inc. The event will take place on the first floor of Warner Hall on the university’s Midtown campus, 181 White St. in Danbury. Copies of the book will be available for purchase.
“Literary nonsense turns to whimsical imagery with a macabre twist in the pen-and-ink drawings of Jamison Odone,” the publisher said. “Stick figures have never emoted this much energy as each page brings a certain curiosity to a new light in this deconstruction of Lewis Carroll’s classic.”
The second book in the series, “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” is due out in September.
Odone is also the author of “Honey Badgers” and illustrator of “The Bedtime Train,” both children’s books.
