Override Requests for Closed Math Sections / Waiting List

For MAT 100, 110, 118, 120, 141, and MAT/CS 359

There is a waitlist column in open/close when you register.   If the course section is full you can add your name to the waitlist.

If a seat becomes available:

  • You will receive an email notification to your WCSU Email account that will let you know if a seat becomes available.
  • You will have a certain amount of time to log into Banner Web and add that class to your schedule.
  • You will be dropped from the waitlist and that seat will open for the next student in line if you do not complete the process within 48 hours.

 

For all other courses

If you are requesting an override for a closed course or section you should first contact the instructor for permission to add that class.  After obtaining instructor permission please e-mail the department secretary, Ms. Cathy DeSisto with the following information:

Subject line:

  • your name
  • your ID
  • MAT #/waiting list

Please include in the email:

  • your major
  • The course number and CRN that you are requesting
  • reason why you want to get into the course

Override decisions will be made by the department chair before the end of the first week of classes.

 

NOTE: Keep checking OpenClose (https://ssb-prod.ec.wcsu.edu/openclose/ ) whether any other student(s) drop and a seat becomes available so you can register.

Open seats go very fast at this time!

If enough students request a particular section, we may ask the dean’s office to approve opening a new one at the same time.
