About the Show
Half a dozen friends and relatives are celebrating Christmas with Neville and Belinda. Various children are also there and, though unseen, their presence is always felt. Petty squabbles break out and some not so petty. The arrival of Clive, a young writer, leads to what momentarily appears to be a tragedy: Clive is shot by trigger happy Harvey who thinks he is a burglar. Hilarious highlights include a chaotically incompetent puppet show and a midnight love scene that sets off a fearful din among mechanical Christmas toys.
About the Director
Cady Huffman started studying acting at the age of 6, ballet at 7 and classical voice at 9 and has never stopped studying. She sent herself to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and continues to view her life as a vibrant work in progress.
Cady is perhaps best known for her Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Award winning performance as Ulla in “The Producers” on Broadway opposite Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick. This led to her unforgettable recurring role on HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm” where she almost became Larry David’s 10th anniversary present. This success also brought her to the Food Network’s kitchen stadium where she judged for 10 consecutive seasons on “Iron Chef America.”
Cady’s other Broadway credits are her Tony-nominated performance as Ziegfeld’s Favorite in “The Will Rogers Follies,” her Outer Critics Circle nominated performance in “The Nance,” the original production of “La Cage Aux Folles,” “Chicago,” “Steel Pier,” “Dame Edna: The Royal Tour” and Bob Fosse’s last original musical “Big Deal.”
She has had several guest starring appearances on television, including recurring roles on “The Good Wife” and “Blue Bloods,” “Younger,” “Madam Secretary,” “Master of None,” “Difficult People,” “Law & Order: SVU,” “Law & Order: CI,” “Law & Order: Trial by Jury,” “Frasier” and “Mad About You.” Daytime audiences know her as the second Dr. Paige Miller on “One Life to Live” and Calista Lockhart on “Days of Our Lives.”
Cady’s film credits include “The Sixth Reel,” “The Company Men,” “Dare,” “The Nanny Diaries,” “Romance and Cigarettes” and “Hero.”
Cady co-created and stars in the 12-time 2022 Indie Series Award nominated digital series “CADY DID,” which took home five trophies including two for Cady for producing and acting. She has been nominated for two Daytime Emmy Awards for her work on the digital series “After Forever,” for which she won the 2018 IAWT Award and won an Indie Series Award for “Best Guest Actress in a Comedy” for her work on “He’s With Me.”
Cady is also a busy director and musician. Most recently she directed Veanne Cox in “The First Anti-Vaxxers,” an original digital theater piece for TRUSpeak. Other favorite directing jobs include the original musical “Electric Island,” “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time” at Weathervane Theater, the Jerry Herman tribute for the well-known series “Lyrics and Lyricists” at 92Y, “The Life and Death of Kenyon Phillips” at Webster Hall, and the original musical “City of Lights” at the Colony Theater in Manhattan.
She is also half of the popular jazz duo Cady & Mary Ann, described by BroadwayWorld as “Sometimes with nothing more than a bass and a voice, Huffman and McSweeney created fully theatrical monologues that cut to the heart of the human experience.”
