*AFFILIATED EVENT: SCREENING OF “ETERNAL SPRING”: A powerful new animated documentary film about human rights in China will play in select AMC theaters nationwide starting Friday, Oct. 21. “Eternal Spring” was recently elected as Canada’s entry for the 2023 Oscars Best International Feature Film and is considered a leading contender for the award by Gold Derby.

“Eternal Spring” is an exhilarating tale of determination to speak up for political and religious freedoms, no matter the cost. It takes viewers along the journey of artist Daxiong (Star Wars, Justice League) as religious persecution forces him to flee China after the hijacking of a state-run television signal in 2002 by a banned spiritual group. Told with a combination of stunning animation based on Daxiong’s art and real-life interviews, the film documents this unprecedented act of defiance.
