JAZZ, HIPHOP, AND DO THE RIGHT THING: The Kathwari Spring Seminars will host Dr. Haneef Nelson of WestConn’s Department of Music in a lecture and discussion of Jazz, HipHop, and “Do the Right Thing” at 3:30 p.m. in Room 125 of the Science Building on the university’s Midtown campus.

Nelson’s original compositions have been featured around the world and on albums by the New London Big Band and Dr. Emmet Good’s album “Another Level.” As a performer, he has appeared with numerous top jazz musicians. At WestConn, Nelson teaches jazz trumpet performance, chamber jazz, and History of Hip Hop.

Free and open to the public.
