CALL TO ACTION: CSCU BUDGET RALLY:  The State of Connecticut is currently in legislative session and the future of the CSCU system budget, which includes WCSU, is being debated. President Cheng and Interim President Beran are calling on all students, faculty, and administration to come show support for WCSU.

General Information:

• We encourage those attending to wear your WCSU apparel/gear.
• Please plan to be at the Capitol for 2-3 hours.

Meeting Time & Location: 

• We will gather in the 1^st Floor Atrium of the Legislative Office Building “LOB” (300 Capitol Avenue, Hartford) between 10 to 10:30 a.m. The entire CSCU group will then proceed to the Capitol where we will engage and lobby members outside the House and Senate chambers, where they are expected to gavel in at 11:00 a.m.

WCSU Transportation:

• We will provide a 40-passenger bus for those needing transportation. Please utilize the link provided to sign up (first come/first serve). https://wcsutickets.regfox.com/budget-rally-transportation

Parking:

• There is a parking garage located between the State Armory and the LOB. Visitor parking is located on the first floor of the garage. If this level is full, there is additional parking in the basement of the garage. A map where the parking entrances are located is attached.
• Alternatively, there is also parking at 61 Woodland Street where you could carpool to the Capitol, if necessary. We anticipate a busy day, so parking may be limited in the LOB garage.
