Freedom Day JuneTeenth

CONVERSATIONS: COMMEMORATE JUNETEENTH – POETRY, JUSTICE & JAZZ: Gather on the lawn from 4 to 5:30 p.m. for Mark Twain Library’s 2nd Annual Juneteenth Day featuring Poetry, Justice & Jazz.

Mark the day with discussions, jazz classics and selected poetry readings. Moderated by Tom Kilbourn, Episcopal priest and retired Joel Barlow High School English teacher.

A collection of poetry has been specially compiled for this event and participants are also encouraged to bring a poem of their own choosing. Prior to the event, it is recommended that participants read the selected poems. Click here for the event program and selected readings.

After the program, linger on the lawn to enjoy refreshments, listen to great jazz and continue the conversation at MTL.

Registration recommended, but not required. Walk-ins welcome.
