2025 ANNUAL DANBURY JUNETEENTH CELEBRATION: Please join us for the 2025 Annual Danbury Juneteenth Celebration where our theme is “Thriving Together, Empowering Community: Faith. Family. Freedom.”

This year’s celebration will be a two-day Extravaganza including:

1) Pre-Celebration Concert featuring LIVE R&B Music by The Men of Soul
Friday, June 20, from 7-9 p.m.
On the CityCenter Green
1 Ives St., Danbury

2) 4th Annual Juneteenth Celebration
Saturday, June 21, from noon-5 p.m.
WCSU Midtown campus
181 Main St., Danbury

Preliminary Schedule of Activities:
– All Day Music provided by D.J. Juan Coon of 94.3 WYBC Radio Station
– Live Musical & Spoken Word Performances: Featuring African Drummers & Dancers, local choirs & praise teams, Hip-Hop artist DeAndre “D.J.” Gaines as well as other local artists and performers
– Line Dancing: Learn a few quick line Dance routines for your next family reunion, wedding and/or other celebration
– “From the Ashes, We Dance: A Celebration of Black Joy Past, Present, and Future” Art Exhibit, curated by Danbury-native Brailyn Rodriguez Brito. The Juneteenth exhibit will be a pairing between Brailyn’s work and a selection of other artists representing diverse mediums, such as drawings, paintings, sculpture, textile, and more.
– Kids’ Corner: Children’s activities (e.g., arts & crafts, ballooning, book giveaways, face painting, storytelling, etc.)
-Wellness Center & Health Fair: Healthy living information from health & fitness experts. Will also promote FREE Health Screenings from local medical service providers
-Artisans Market, curated by The Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut: Provides an artisanal experience for the community, while providing local artists and artisans the opportunity to exhibit their work to its best advantage. In addition to appreciating art and culture on display, attendees will be able to purchase original fine art and hand-made goods
-Vendor Pop-Up Shop: Merchandise for sale by small business owners and entrepreneurs (e.g., fashion, jewelry, etc.)
-Resource Empowerment Center: Educational resources such as employment opportunities, banking, homeownership, etc.
-Food Truck Station: Offering a variety of food and drink options
