FILM AND FORUM – DOCUMENTARY NIGHT AT THE LIBRARY: Join us from 6 to 8:30 p.m. for our second Film & Forum, a documentary night at Haas Library on the Midtown campus. This event is being organized by Wally’s Cupboard and the Institute for Holistic Health Studies, and supported by Library Services.
The Blue Zones are the places in the world where people live to be over 100 years old, enjoying happy, healthy, productive, and fulfilling lives, without most of the chronic diseases and conditions that plague many of us in our 21st century lives. What is their secret? What can we learn from them? “Live to 100: Secrets of the Blue Zones” is a Netflix documentary series that takes members around the world to investigate the diet and lifestyles of those living the longest lives. Explore the original blue zones, be immersed in their culture and lifestyles, and see how Blue Zones is applying the research in communities across the United States.
Discussion following the viewing will be led by Christel Autuori, director of the Institute for Holistic Health Studies at Western Connecticut State University. Christel holds a Master’s degree in Integrative Health and Healing, is a board certified Health and Wellness Coach, specializing in Lifestyle Medicine, and teaches courses in Holistic and Integrative Health and Positive Health and Stress Management. Christel will help you identify and discover easy ways to put some of the Blue Zones practices in your own 21st Century lives for better health and vitality.
Light refreshments will be served.
