Kyle Staver

Kyle Staver is a New York artist originally from Minnesota. She received her BFA from Minneapolis College of Art and Design and her MFA from Yale University, where she studied with Andrew Forge, Lester Johnson and William Bailey. She is a recipient of a Louis Comfort Tiffany Award, a Guggenheim Fellowship, and an American Academy of Arts & Letters Purchase Prize.

Staver’s solo exhibition last year in NYC received stunning reviews. William Eckhardt Kohler of the Huffington Post wrote, “It’s an interesting choice to take on the grand Western figurative tradition, for that is what Staver is doing with courage and panache while . . . finding new joy and invention in its language.”

Staver’s work has been shown throughout the U.S. and in NYC at The National Academy Museum, Tibor de Nagy, Steven Harvey Fine Art Projects, and Kent Fine Art, where she is now represented. She has had reviews in The New York Times, The New York Sun, NY Observer, and Hyperallergic. She has been a visiting artist at many schools, among them MICA, University of Indiana, Chautauqua, and Vermont Studio Center, and also teaches at The New York Studio School.
