Our faculty’s extensive connections to community and professional organizations (schools, theatres, hospitals, art galleries, multinational companies) — and their commitment to mentoring students in small classes — provide our students with extensive career opportunities.
Whether you study in the Macricostas School of Arts & Sciences, the Ancell School of Business, the School of Professional Studies, or the School of Visual, Performing, and Communication Arts, you will benefit from small classes, state-of-the art labs, academic support services, a brand-new Dining Hall and a Health and Wellness Center.
We have free transportation between our campuses, and four dorms including two with apartment-style living. There are two Student Centers/dining halls, two libraries, many personalized tutoring services, gyms and workout rooms, an indoor pool and a large athletics complex.

WCSU is accredited by the New England Commission on Higher Education (NECHE) and offers a multitude of undergraduate degrees as well as Doctoral Programs, Masters and MBA Programs, and Certificate Programs.

Welcome to New England
Western Connecticut State University is located in the New England region of the American Northeast. Close to major cities, ocean beaches and mountain retreats, our area offers plenty of hiking, adventure sports, skiing and lake activities in four unique seasons.
One of the safest cities in the USA, Danbury, Connecticut offers many shops, restaurants and entertainment venues. Trains and busses take you to New York City or Boston (and many other New England cities). There are several major airports servicing our area. Along with campus social activities, you’ll enjoy exploring our region of the United States.
