EIT Benchmarks
- Goal 1 Procurement processes for content, software, and platforms address Accessibility
- Purchasing proposals and contracts include accessibility language.
- Materials procured outside the administrative purchasing process have been checked for accessibility (OR meet accessibility requirements per a provided self-assessment checklist).
- An established WCSU review committee evaluates VPATs, publisher content accessibility, etc.
- Goal 2 Required Staff, Faculty and Administrators are training in EIT Accessibility
- Required employees have attended training sessions on Accessibility topics (in-house or purchased training). All required new employees receive training.
- Required training is tracked for compliance.
- Awareness campaigns increase knowledge and awareness of available EIT support.
- Goal 3 Content, Software and Platforms meet Accessibility requirements
- Content owners have audited software/technology/hardware/platforms using self-assessment checklist.
- ITI and Media Services has completed a self-assessment of all current software, hardware and platforms (June 2022).
- Faculty implement accessible syllabi using the template available on the Accessibility website.
- Administrative and Academic Departments have developed a corrective action strategy to address all inaccessible websites (2023).
- Library has developed a corrective action strategy to address all inaccessible resources (2023-2024).
- Fully online programs have developed a corrective action strategy to address all inaccessible resources (2023-2024).
- All pages hosted on the University’s websites that have been published or updated on or after October 2021 shall be accessible to blind users (June 1, 2024)
- Goal 4: Website Communication
- University Accessibility website contains information & resources on developing accessible EIT.
- Accessibility concerns are collected electronically by the University.
- Goal 5: Ongoing Accessibility Review/Assessment
- WCSU has establish an annual self-assessment process to ensure policy standards are met (2024)
