What is Siblings Weekend?
Welcome to the WCSU Siblings Weekend Frequently Asked Questions.
We are excited that you are coming to our campus and taking part in this
amazing program.
When is Siblings Weekend?
Siblings Weekend is March 15-17, 2013. Events last all weekend starting
Friday evening and conclude Sunday afternoon.
Where is Siblings Weekend located @ WCSU?
The program spans across the entire campus of Western Connecticut State
University. There are events everywhere including: The Student Center,
Alumni Hall, The O’Neill Center, individual halls, plus more! For a map

Where is lodging around WCSU?
We encourage siblings to stay with WCSU students. However, we have
compiled a list to lodging only 10-15 minutes around the Midtown and Westside
Campuses of WCSU in case parents would like to stay for the weekend.

Who is responsible for the sib/kid visiting for the weekend?
Each WCSU student is responsible for those visiting and will be held accountable for their actions and the actions of their guests. This includes their behavior on and off campus. Siblings Weekend is treated as any other day at WCSU where students are to uphold all of the requirements of the WCSU Student Handbook. Please remember that all WCSU students are responsible for the actions of their guests per the WCSU Student Handbook.
Who can come to Siblings Weekend?
Siblings Weekend is proud to have any sister/brother/niece/
nephew/cousin/friend between the ages of 10-18 that fills out a Parental
Permission form and pays the registration fee attend all the events of
Siblings Weekend. There is a maximum of 2 siblings/guests per WCSU
student allowed at Siblings Weekend.
Where will the student’s guest sibling stay/sleep?
Guests will stay with their host student for the weekend. The host student should be able to tell their guest sib what type of necessities he/she will need to bring for the weekend (i.e. sleeping bag, pillow, clothing, toiletries…)
When can I register?
Registration will be open from now until to February 15, 2013
February 22, 2013.
Registration will likely be unavailable after this date.
Where do I check in for Sibs?
Sibs Registration Check-In will be in the Center for Student Involvement
located in the
Student Center Room 207. Check-In will begin at 4:30pm on Friday, March
15, 2013. There will be late check-in at the Student Center information
desk during the morning on Saturday, March 16, 2013.
When is Siblings Weekend over?
The last event for the weekend is brunch on Sunday, March 17, 2013 from 10-4 in the Marketplace. Parents or other family members are encouraged to join and can pay for their meal the day of. The cost will be $7.75, for all you can eat, this way other family members can hear all about the great times that were had over the weekend.
Will Transportation be provided?
All events will be held on campus so that they are all easy to get to. The shuttle service will be running, incase siblings want to go to the other campus for some of the events or just to look around! If siblings choose to go off campus for anything, transportation is on their own. Please have rides arranged for drop-off or pick-up at the beginning and end of the weekend.
For events that are being held off campus (Saturday afternoon), the Siblings Weekend events team will be providing buses for transportation.
What forms have to be filled out?
There is a Registration and Permission form that needs to be filled out. No
sibling will be allowed to attend, or stay in housing without filling
this out with payment by February 15, 2013
February 22, 2013.
Is there a refund policy?
WCSU Siblings Weekend is proud to have you join us on our campus for
this amazing event. With so many participants we have to offer a
No-Refund policy with all of our registrations. If you have any
questions contact the of Student Life Office.
Is there a cost for SIBS?
There is a small cost to attend Siblings Weekend. The cost for each
sibling attending starts at $45. Remember WCSU students are only allowed
to bring up to two siblings. This cost includes all meals for the
weekend as well as a give-a-ways, t-shirt (please indicate size on the
Registration and Permission Form), and admittance to all the siblings weekend
events.
How can I pay for Sibs?
You can mail, fax or bring in your payment for Siblings Weekend along with your
registration form. Payments that will be accepted are cash and check
only. Please make checks payable to WCSU. Payment and forms are due
by February 15, 2013 February 22,
2013.
How do I know I completed Registration Successfully?
When you fill out your Registration and Permission Form please fill in an
e-mail address where we can send a confirmation e-mail to so that
you know your forms and payment have been received.
