APT Foundation

APT Foundation (https://aptfoundation.org/) in New Haven is a national model for open access treatment for opioid use disorders and other substance use disorders. APT Foundation is a not-for-profit organization which provides medications for the treatment of opioid use disorder and other substances, intensive outpatient services, residential treatment, onsite psychiatric care, and onsite primary medical care. Our six locations serve the people of New Haven County and beyond, and we treat vulnerable populations such as people from medically underserved communities, veterans, people with housing insecurity, people with histories of incarceration, and pregnant women. APT is innovative in its approach to client care, providing care through an open access treatment model. We serve over 8,000 unique clients each year, including adolescents through adulthood.

Unique to our model, community members seeking treatment for substance use disorders can walk-in to the clinic and after assessment receive treatment (including methadone and/or buprenorphine) on their first day of treatment. APT is a leader in the harm reduction model of care with an interdisciplinary team approach.
