EAP Summer Orientation 2015
Letter to Students/Parents (referential)
Welcome to WestConn! The Admissions Office has informed me that you have been accepted into the Educational Achievement and Access Program (EAP), and I look forward to meeting with you and your family member during housing check-in, and EAP orientation on June 24th.
Students are scheduled to check-in to Litchfield Hall on Sunday, June 21st, 2015 at 1:00 PM. We will have EAP orientation for all students and parents on Sunday starting at 4:30 p.m. Classes will begin on Monday, June 22nd and end on Friday, July 24th. (Five-weeks). Students are required to live on campus during the week and leave on all weekends, and leave on Friday's by 12:00pm.
For your stay in Litchfield Hall please bring bedding for a twin bed, towels/wash cloths, shower clogs, hangers, a lamp, and other important items to make your stay comfortable. Litchfield Hall, located on the Midtown Campus is not air-conditioned, so you may want to bring a fan, but air-conditioners are not allowed. In addition, please leave the televisions, boom boxes and stereos at home! A small clock radio is recommended and acceptable. Laptops and personal computers are allowed in the dorms, but at your own risk and liability. WestConn is not responsible for anything lost or stolen. EAP Orientation - Sunday, June 21st, 2015 (Tenative Schedule)
1:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. Check in at Litchfield Hall
3:30 p.m. - 4:30
4:30 p.m. Orientation for parents and students
5:00 p.m. Introductions of EAP Staff/Counselors
5:30 p.m. Comments/Questions from parents and students
6:00 p.m. Parents depart; student ice breakers/pizza time with EAP Staff/Counselors
It is important that all students forward a copy of their immunization records to the Health Services Office. Students will not be allowed to stay on-campus if they do not submit the immunization records and proof of meningitis shot by June 21st. In addition, students should have submitted appropriate SAT scores or taken required placement tests in English or Math, applied for financial aid and submitted supporting documentation to the Financial Aid Office
If you do not plan to attend the summer program, please call or contact my office immediately. No students will be allowed into the program after the June 21st Orientation. If there are any special/emergency conditions that may prevent you from attending/arriving on June 21st, please call immediately to see if an arrangement can be made. Due to escalating program costs, all students are required to cover the cost for their books. Some students, based on family income, will be charged a sliding fee, as determined by the Financial Aid Office for attending the EAP Summer 2015 Program.
