New Visual and Performing Arts Center

The new facility, expected to be complete in 2014 will house a 350-seat theater, a 150-seat black box theater, a 350-seat concert hall, an art gallery, a recording studio and state-of-the-art rehearsal, classroom and studio art facilities.

Patrick W. Smith

Applied Percussion

Patrick Smith has the BAE and BM degrees from Western Washington University.  His MM degree in percussion performance is from the Yale School of Music.  His major teacher was Fred D. Hinger.  

He was principal percussionist of the Hong Kong Symphony for two years and has done many performances with the Seattle Symphony.   He is presently a member of the New Haven Symphony Orchestra and Orchestra New England.  He is also a frequent performer with orchestras in the New York City and Connecticut areas.  Patrick has recorded for CBS / Sony, RCA, Denon, Koch, Powwow and Bent Spike.  He has been a xylophone soloist with the New Sousa Band and is a clinician for Sabian Cymbals.

He is presently director of instrumental music at Cooperative Arts High School in New Haven, Connecticut.
