Matching Gifts
Did you know many companies offer a matching gift program to encourage philanthropy among their employees? And that some companies even match gifts made by spouses and retirees? Please check to see if your company offers this benefit. If so, request a matching gift form from your employer, and send it completed and signed with your gift. We will do the rest. The impact of your gift may be doubled or even tripled!

Gifts of Stock
Please notify the Office of Institutional Advancement when donating securities!
Gifts of publicly traded securities that have appreciated in value allow you to avoid capital gains taxes while also receiving a tax deduction for your gift. The Foundation benefits by selling the stock without paying taxes on the gain, and you benefit from making a contribution that would be larger than what you might have been able to donate in cash. We recommend you check with your tax advisor for advice on your particular situation.

Gifts of Other Assets
Gifts to WCSU can come in the form of other assets as well. For example, you may wish to consider gifts of closely held stock, planned gifts, life insurance, real estate and tangible personal property if its use is related to WCSU’s educational purpose. WCSU Foundation can accept gifts in a variety of forms that meet its gift acceptance policy guidelines.
