WestConn Events - CLOTHESLINE PROJECT (WCSU faculty, staff and students only)
The Women's Center of Greater Danbury will present the "Clothesline Project," an event intended to raise awareness about interpersonal violence, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the lobby of the Student Center on the university's Midtown campus, 181 White St. in Danbury. The club "It's On Us" will provide materials for students to write comments on T-shirts that will be displayed in the Student Center to show support for a survivor or for education about this very difficult issue. The Clothesline Project is a program that started on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, to address the issue of violence against women. It is a vehicle for women affected by violence to express their emotions by decorating a shirt that is then hung on a clothesline to be viewed by others as testimony to the problem of violence against women.
