KATHWARI HONORS PROGRAM

Innovative learning & entrepreneurial thinking in a compassionate community

The Kathwari Honors Program at Western Connecticut State University fosters and nurtures academic and civic excellence among outstanding WCSU students. The Program consists of highly interactive and interdisciplinary classes and is built on the fundamental assumption that knowledge is an open set of questions and ideas to be explored, rather than a closed set of facts to be memorized.

Kathwari Honors students have graduated in less than four years and have become Fulbright Scholars. Our students have received offers to the world’s leading graduate schools including Harvard, Northwestern University’s Kellogg School, Texas A&M and Emory University’s School of Law and from employers such as The Hartford, Ernst & Young and many others.

The program has two pathways: a full program open to first-year students and first-semester sophomores, and an associate program option available to juniors and seniors.

Kathwari Honors House

In April 2015, the Kathwari Honors Program received a $1 million endowment from Mr. and Mrs. Farooq Kathwari and celebrated the renaming of Alumni Hall as the Irfan Kathwari Honors House.
