WESTCONNect Card

WHY DO I NEED A WESTCONNect CARD?

 

RESIDENTS:

Welcome to on-campus living!  Residents use the WESTCONNect ID to:

  • Access their residence hall doors

  • Use their meal plan

  • Use the CONNect Cash Program to do laundry, buy books, or supplement their meal plans

  • Take out library materials from WCSU or any CSU library

  • Access 24-hour computer labs

  • Access secure rooms and specialized areas for classes

  • Participate in any campus events/programs that require student identification

COMMUTERS:

Whether you are full time, part time, or taking one class, you need your ID to:

  • Access the midtown commuter parking garage

  • Take out library materials from WCSU or any CSU library

  • Access 24-hour computer labs

  • Access secure rooms and specialized areas for classes

  • Purchase items at food service or bookstore locations through the CONNect Cash Program

  • Participate in any campus events/programs that require student identification

HOW DO I GET A WESTCONNect CARD?

New students can obtain their WESTCONNect Card either at June Orientation or after they have registered for classes.  You must be registered for the current or next semester in order to obtain your WESTCONNect Card

 

Bring a photo identification such as a driver's license, high school ID or passport as well as your class schedule.  This card is valid for as long as you are registered with the university and can be reactivated if you take a leave of absence.  WE DO NOT ISSUE NEW CARDS EACH YEAR and students who have been enrolled without leave will be charged for replacement IDs if they lose or throw out their cards between semesters.

 

WHAT DOES A WESTCONNect CARD COST?

There is no charge for the WESTCONNect Card.  However, if you lose or damage your card, you will be charged $15.00 for any future replacement ID cards.

Parking Permit

WHY DO I NEED A PARKING PERMIT?

You MUST obtain a valid WCSU parking decal from the WESTCONNect Office in order to park your vehicle on either the midtown or west side WCSU Campus.

 

HOW DO I GET IT?

Student Parking permits are valid for an academic year, expiring August 31st of each year.  Parking permits for the coming fall are normally available at June Orientation or after July 1st.  You must be registered for the current or next semester in order to obtain a parking permit. Also, if you are living on campus, you must know your housing assignment to obtain the proper decal.

 

Bring the following to the WESTCONNect Office:

  • Completed Registration Form

  • A copy of the current vehicle registration for the car you are bringing on campus

  • Your WESTCONNect ID (if already obtained) or valid photo ID

 

Please note students are only allowed to register one vehicle at a time.  To view the parking rules and regulations, click here.

 

WHAT DOES A PARKING PERMIT COST?

There is no additional charge for the parking permit.  However, if you lose your parking permit, you will be charged $10.00 for a replacement.  This does not include loss due to motor vehicle damage or a change of vehicle.

Door Access PIN

WHY DO I NEED A DOOR ACCESS PIN?

Sometimes you must use a 4-digit PIN along with your WESTCONNect Card to access University facilities. 

 

HOW DO I SET MY DOOR ACCESS PIN?

To set your 4-digit PIN, you must fill out the form available here or at the WESTCONNect Office.  The form is submitted at the WESTCONNect Office. To read the full access policy, click here.
