WCSU theatre arts department awarded highest honors at Kennedy Center national festival in Washington

Western Connecticut State University’s fall 2015 theatre arts production, “Parade,” was nominated for 14 national awards and won five, including “Outstanding Production of a Musical,” Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Musical,” “Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Musical,” “Best Director of a Musical” and “Outstanding Choreography” at the American College Theatre Festival(KCACTF) held at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., earlier this month. The newest emerging star on the Westside campus of Western Connecticut State University held its Gala Opening on Sunday, September 28 to a crowd of over 500 alumni, family, friends, faculty, staff and students. For more information, click here.


‘Bye to Berkshire'

It was the final act for the Berkshire Theatre – the home of hundreds of pro - ductions and the starting point of thou - sands of theater careers. On May 3, more than 200 faculty, students and graduates bid farewell to the stage that for nearly a half century showcased their talents and brought their dreams to reality.


Kennedy Center shines spotlight on WCSU theatre arts department

WCSU sent 75 students and seven faculty members to Massachusetts to participate in the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival’s (KCACTF) regional festival in Fitchburg, Mass in late January.
