DELTA GAMMA PHI SORORITY HISTORY During the spring of 1990, five friends: Jiuliellen McConnell, Julie Jennings, Elisa Moles, Pamela Czajka and Lorena Nissly, discussed the initial steps to bring a new sorority to the campus of Western Connecticut State University. Christopher Norris, the President and Founding Father of Zeta Beta Tau Fraternity, helped us with our direction and assisted us in our name and purpose. The first step was at the Student Affairs Office; where we met with Dean Dozier, Assistant Dean of Student Affairs. He advised us to petition to organize which meant: writing a constitution, approval by the Greek Council, approval of our constitution by the Rules Committee, approval by the Student Government Association (SGA) and lastly, find someone to be our advisor. Writing the constitution was the most difficult of all the tasks. In our constitution we presented the foundation of our sorority which is a bond between women on campus and sisters that will remain incessant “together forever” with one another. Before we knew it this first step was successfully completed on April 25, 1990.
