WCSU Advocacy for Progressive Thinking (APT) is a non-profit, non-partisan grassroots organization, which promotes an objective guideline to re-instituting the doctrines and constituencies written within the Constitution of the United States of America as well as our civil liberties, while providing an objective look at government policies which have a negative effect and global impact on our free market, international sovereignty, monetary system, and our war policy. APT believes in our founding fathers idea of “Life, Liberty, and Freedom.” This is a country which was once founded on the idea that “every man is equal and innocent until proven guilty” while we now have laws such as the Patriot Act which keep us incarcerated against our will and guilty until proven innocent. Thomas Paine, Thomas Jefferson, and other “radicals” who fought for our Bill of Rights, Declaration of Independence, and for our freedom, helped initiate the beginning of this great country, and it is now slowly being taken away from us. The partial Democracy we purport to strive for is a system, which has been manipulated to work from the top down, rather than from the bottom up. Government expansion on health care and unprecedented approval of bills such as “bailouts” which will inflate the dollar into nothingness cannot continue to control and infringe our lives into meaningless existence. We as human beings in the United States congregate no matter the difference of race, creed, or religion, yet without unity, we have failed to accomplish the main philosophy of life being Socrates’ observation of “the unexamined life is not worth living.” |
