Michael Wilson, Department of Education and Educational Psychology

Dr. Michael Wilson is an Assistant Professor of Education and Educational Psychology teaching courses in reading, assessment and research. He received his Ph. D. from the University of Southern California by completing his dissertation on comparative models of student self-concept as an EDUCARE scholar in 1983. He received a M.A. from California State University in education in 1973 and a B.A. from the University of California in anthropology in 1971. Prior to joining the Western Connecticut State University faculty in the Fall 2003, he had worked for a number of years in a variety of professional capacities, including classroom teacher, reading resource teacher, school administrator, state testing manager, and educational evaluator. In addition to the positions held in public education, he served as a college professor at the University of North Texas teaching courses in psychometry, language arts, research, educational evaluation and learning. Dr. Wilson’s research interest include teachers use of mental measurement and other data and the development of the internal regulation of the learning processes.
