With just under three minutes remaining in the half, Gorman and Perrone scored back to back goals to give Western a 13-8 lead at the half.
Brooks pushed the Western margin back to six goals in the fifth minute of the second half, but Westfield State scored two goals in under one minute to close the gap to 14-10. Edwards began Western’s decisive run by converting a free-position chance with 13 minutes remaining, and when the final horn sounded, the Colonials had scored six straight times and captured a 20-10 victory.
