WestConn women edge SUNY Cobleskill, 46-42

COBLESKILL, NY - (Nov. 25) - Karli Spera (Waterford, CT) led the Western Connecticut State University women's basketball team with nine points and the Colonials went on to defeat SUNY Cobleskill 46-42 on Tuesday night.

Colleen Smith (Lebanon, CT) and Melissa Teel (Hamden, CT) added seven and six points, respectively as the Colonials improve to 3-2 on the young season.

WestConn led by seven points for much of the second half until Sherry Daniels buried a three pointer with eight seconds remaining to cut the Fighting Tigers deficit to three point, 45-42.

Spera was fouled on the ensuing inbounds play and canned one of two free throws to seal the victory.

Teel again was a force down on the box, collecting a game-high eight rebounds and swatting three shots aside.

Chelsy Moore led Cobleskill with nine points and five rebounds.
