WestConn strikes in second half to defeat Albertus Magnus

NEW HAVEN, CT - Sep 2 - In New Haven on Tuesday afternoon, the Western Connecticut State University men's soccer team defeated Albertus Magnus College, 2-0.
Western Connecticut State received an early second half goal of the leg of freshman Ryan Rose (Bethel, CT) and never looked back.
The Falcons battled hard but could not seem to find the back of the net in a very physical contest.
Rose (Bethel, CT) would later get involved in the scoring by way of assist from a throw-in to fellow freshman Bruno Mendoca (New Milford, CT) in the 80th minute.
Dan Michalowski (Bristol, CT) made five saves for the Colonials in the shut out while Gerald O'Connor made seven stops for the Falcons.
The Colonials improve to 1-1 on the young season and will face Lasell College in the Skidmore Tournament on Saturday at 3:00 pm. They face Skidmore in day two's action on Sunday at 2 pm
The Falcons drop to 1-1 this season and travel to Trinity College on Saturday at 12:00 pm.
