Western men remain scoreless with 0-2 start in 2012 after loss to TCNJ


MADISON, NJ (Sep. 1) —  For the second time in two games, the Western Connecticut State University men's soccer team managed only three shots at the offensive end of the field as it fell 1-0 to the College of New Jersey (TCNJ) Saturday afternoon at the Drew Tournament.

The game remained scoreless throughout the first half, but TCNJ got on the board in the second minute of the second period for the game's only goal. Junior keeper Jack Holub (Sherman, CT) was tested often, making nine saves as TCNJ out-shot the Colonials 22-3.

With the loss, Western falls to 0-2 on the season. The Colonials return to action on Wednesday, September 5th, when they travel to Vassar for a non-conference matchup. Game time is slated for 5:00pm.
