BOX SCORE
DANBURY, CT (Aug 30) - David Tyler (Hubbardston, MA) scored two goals and assisted on another as Fitchburg State College opened the season with a 4-2 victory over Western Connecticut State University in the season opener for both teams at Westside Athletic Complex Saturday afternoon.

After three unanswered goals from Fitchburg, WestConn drew within a goal in the 65th minute when Michael Savenelli (East Haven, CT) dribble through the defense and blasted a shot inside the bottom right corner of goal.
The Falcons added an insurance goal from Joseph Daigle (Holyoke, MA) with less than three minutes to play.
Michalowski began his final season in net in fine fashion despite the loss. He made eight saves on the afternoon.
