Western Field Hockey falls at UMass Dartmouth, 5-0


NORTH DARMOUTH, MA (Sept. 22) —  The Western Connecitcut State University field hockey team suffered its fourth straight defeat, falling to Little East Conference rival UMass Dartmouth 5-0 Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Colonials fall to 2-5 on the season.

The Corsairs used a balanced scoring attack, tallying a pair of goals in the first half and three more over the final 35 minutes.

UMass Dartmouth out shot the Colonials, 27-6 on the afternoon.

Courtney Hearn (New Fairfield, CT) made 10 saves in goal for Western while Lauren O'Brien had to make just two stops for the winners.

The Colonials travel to Framingham State for a meeting with the Rams this Wednesday, September 26. Game time is slated for 4 pm.
