Shuttle Answers

WHERE DOES THE SHUTTLE MAKE STOPS?

The Shuttle Bus will stop at the following locations sequentially. It is recommended that you arrive at the stop, regardless of location, five minutes before the time indicated for departure. It takes five to 10 minutes for the shuttle to complete its route, depending on the number of riders using the service. Please consult the maps; shuttle stops are indicated on the maps.

Midtown

  1. Westside Classroom Building *please note that the bus will stop on University Blvd. near the classroom building during construction of the Westside Campus Center.

WHAT IS THE SHUTTLE SCHEDULE?

Monday-Friday Daytime Schedule

Shuttle buses depart simultaneously from the Westside and Midtown campuses every 15 minutes, beginning at 7:00 a.m. and ending at 11:15a.m and from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Midtown to Westside Westside to Midtown

ABOUT HOW LONG IS THE SHUTTLE RIDE?

It takes approximately 5-10 minutes for the shuttle to complete its route to pick-up or drop-off at each campus. There is an additional travel time of approximately 20-25 minutes between campuses, depending upon traffic and road conditions. It is recommended that you arrive at the shuttle stop, regardless of location, five minutes before the time indicated for departure.

I AM A FIRST-YEAR RESIDENT STUDENT; WHERE CAN I PARK?

First-year students are eligible for parking privileges; however, the vehicle must be parked in the appropriate designated lot.


I AM A COMMUTER STUDENT; WHERE CAN I PARK?

Commuter student parking is available in designated areas on both the Midtown and Westside campuses. (LINK TO PARKING MAPS)


I AM A RESIDENT STUDENT; WHERE CAN I PARK?

Resident student parking is available in designated areas on both the Midtown and Westside campuses. (LINK TO PARKING MAPS)


I AM A VISITOR; WHERE CAN I PARK?

Campus visitors must obtain a temporary parking permit from Police Department. You may park in the visitor lot next to University Hall, the White Street garage or Old Main Administration Building lot on the Midtown campus.


I AM A FACULTY/STAFF MEMBER; WHERE CAN I PARK?

Faculty and staff may park in the reserved surface lots on both the Midtown and Westside campuses. On the Midtown campus, faculty and staff may park in the lots near White Hall, accessible from White Street and Fifth Avenue, and the lot next to Berkshire, accessible from Osborne Street. Midtown parking also is available in the parking garage on White Street. On the Westside campus, faculty and staff may park in the lot near the Westside Classroom Building, on Access Road, and along University Boulevard.

Adjunct faculty members also may park in any of the parking lots designated for faculty and staff. Adjunct permits are valid for one semester and change color each semester. Expiration dates are visible at the bottom of each permit.


WHERE CAN I PARK IF I AM A HANDICAPPED PERSON?

To park in a handicapped spot, you must display a permanent or temporary handicapped parking permit issued by the state Department of Motor Vehicles. Handicapped parking spaces are available in the surface lots and all parking garages on both campuses. Please consult the parking maps and look for the handicapped symbol, which denotes specific handicapped parking locations.


ARE THERE HANDICAP PERMITS AVAILABLE?

The university does not issue handicapped parking permits. However, the state Department of Motor Vehicles may assist you with both permanent and temporary handicapped permits. Please visit the State of Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles Web site at http://www.ct.gov/dmv/ for more information.


I AM A FACULTY MEMBER; WHERE DO I GET MY HANG-TAG?

I RECEIVED A PARKING TICKET; NOW WHAT?

Parking tickets are issued by the University Police Department in accordance with state motor vehicle regulations. Parking fines are payable at the Cashier’s Office (203) 837-8381. Parking tickets may be appealed. An appeal form (available at the University Police Department on Roberts Avenue) may be submitted to the University Police Department. The Parking Appeals Committee meets once a month to review all submitted appeal forms. All fines collected from parking tickets are pooled for scholarship purposes.


I BELIEVE MY VEHICLE WAS TOWED; NOW WHAT?

If you believe your vehicle was towed, please call the University Police Department at (203) 837-9300. The officers will have a list of those vehicles that were towed and will provide contact information for the tow company.
