Ten-hour Beatles music festival at Ives Concert Park this Saturday
DANBURY, CONN. — The “Danbury Fields Forever” Beatles Music Festival, featuring 10 bands playing during a 10-hour period, will come to Ives Concert Park on the Westside campus of Western Connecticut State University, 43 Lake Ave. Extension in Danbury, on Saturday, July 28, 2012. The festival is open to all ages, and is expected to attract music lovers spanning the generations. Gates will open at 10 a.m. and the music will continue until 8 p.m. Entire-day “ticket to ride” admission is $15 in advance for lawn seating, $20 at the door; reserved seats are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. The lineup, which includes artists representing The Beatles’ various band eras and solo careers, will feature Pete Santora, who has portrayed George Harrison in the Broadway, national and London productions of “Beatlemania.” His musical theatre credits include the national and European tours of the original “Godspell.” He has appeared on screen in “Goodfellas,” “Godfather 3” and “Prizzi’s Honor,” as well as on TV in various episodes of “Law and Order.” Born in the Bronx and now a resident of Kingston, N.Y., Santora continues to perform his solo tributes “Being The Beatle,” “Harrisong” and “Liverpool Cowboy,” as well as recording and producing his own original music.
He fills out a lineup that already includes world-class tributes to John Lennon and Paul McCartney.

Also scheduled to appear is world-famous rock & roll artist Shannon. There will be vendors with souvenirs, memorabilia and collectibles; food and beverages available for purchase; and special attractions for kids including face-painting, inflatables and more.
