Artist and curator submissions for 2019-20 gallery schedule now due by March 1: WCSU grants extension to submit proposals for Art Gallery exhibitions

DANBURY, CONN. — Artists interested in exhibiting their works and curators seeking to arrange a group exhibition at the Art Gallery of the Visual and Performing Arts Center at Western Connecticut State University are being given a one-month extension to complete submission of proposals for the 2019-20 gallery schedule.

Submissions by artists and curators will now be accepted until March 1 for review by a committee of faculty and staff members of the WCSU Department of Art. The committee will determine which submissions will be selected for the 2019-20 season based on artistic quality, conceptual strength and feasibility of the proposed exhibition. The call for proposals is open to all artists and curators who wish to present new and innovative ideas in the context of an academic gallery space.

The deadline extension has been granted due to a change in the submission process. Proposals now should be submitted as multi-page PDF documents, including images, sent by email to info.gallery@wcsu.edu. Detailed description of PDF specifications and required information for submissions may be found at http://wcsu.edu/art/gallery/artist-curatorial-proposals.

Submissions are not guaranteed selection for exhibition, and will not be considered if they do not follow WCSU guidelines for entry. An administration fee of $10 will be charged for each submission. Applicants will receive notification of committee decisions by May 31. Some submissions that are not chosen for the 2019-20 gallery schedule may be held on file for consideration for inclusion in future exhibitions.

Inquiries should be directed to info.gallery@wcsu.edu.
