Music Education, Symphonic Band
Matt Doiron is a PhD candidate at the Eastman School of Music where he taught and assisted classes in instrumental music education and supervised student teachers. He holds degrees from Keene State College and Southern Oregon University.
For 21 years he was director of bands at Sanford (ME) High School, the music director of the Strafford Wind Symphony and the conductor of the basketball band at the University of New Hampshire. He has guest conducted throughout New England and New York.
He has presented sessions on research and practice at regional, state, national and international conferences. His research interests include motivation, the teaching of composition and improvisation in performing ensembles, and music teacher education.
He currently resides in Danbury with his wife, Jen.
