Dr. Cory Ganschow

Dr. Cory Ganschow is Coordinator of Music Education and Associate Director of Choirs at Western Connecticut State University. She is extremely active as an adjudicator and clinician for honor choirs across the country including All-State choirs, All-Region Choirs, and ACDA district honor choirs.
Previously, as a choral director in both Texas and Illinois public schools, Ganschow led her choirs to numerous awards at state and national competitions. Before her time at Western, Ganschow served as an Instructor of Music Education and Choral Music at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music and Dance where she also acted as a facilitator of urban outreach, summer music programs in Kansas City.
In addition to her roles as a conductor and educator, Ganschow has sung professionally in Simon Carrington Chamber Singers, Voce, Collegium Vocale, and Spire Chamber Choir. She is an emerging researcher in the field of choral rehearsal approaches, engagement, and leadership and has published her research in national journals and presented at state, regional, and national conventions. Ganschow serves as the R&S Chair for Youth and Student Activities on the CT-ACDA board as well.
Ganschow holds a Ph.D in Music Education and Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music and Dance, a Master’s Degree in Choral Music Education from Illinois State University and a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Millikin University where she studied conducting with Dr. Brad Holmes.
