Western Connecticut State University is seeking a Web Developer (Programmer Specialist) to analyze, design, program, test, implement, secure and perform overall development of new systems. In addition to designing and writing computer programs, the Web Developer will also supervise and maintain administrative areas data files and computer programs associated with the generation of reports for the University and act as a project leader in the development phase where required. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development, implementation, monitoring, and security of WWW applications.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems or a related area is required as are four or more years of professional experience in developing, securing, distributed enterprise class web based applications using real time connectivity to a relational database and demonstrating knowledge of programming in J2EE, Java servlets, JSP, Javascript, XML, XHTML and SQL required. Experience with Oracle, MySQL, or SQLServer databases required. Experience with WebSphere Application Server and programming in an IDE such as WebSphere Studio Application Developer or Eclipse is strongly preferred.
