Housing is still available for the Fall 2013 semester!
If you've ever considered living on campus but thought it was too late for you, worry no more! Housing on campus at WCSU is still available. Please give the office a call at 203-837-8531 to find out details, or simply fill out your application, pay a deposit, and submit evidence of having received a meningitis vaccine to Health Services right away.
Several new housing options are available for the Fall 2013 semester.
Fairfield Singles -
Fairfield Hall will be a "singles" building. There are approximately 50 spaces available (30 female, 20 male). The cost for these rooms is $400 more per semester than a Midtown double room. Rooms will be assigned on a first come/first served basis, and no applications will be accepted until students have qualified for the regular room selection process (deposit paid by March 31st, registered for 12+ credits for Fall 2013). You may print an application from this link.
Gender Neutral Housing -
The Gender Neutral Housing Option brings together individuals as part of a welcoming and inclusive community. This option is open to all members of the campus community, regardless of gender identity or expression or sexual orientation. Gender neutral housing supports the University's non-discrimination policy and fully commits to the principles of social justice with respect to sexual orientation, sex, gender, or gender identity. Gender neutral housing provides housing options for students who may identify as transgender or are questioning their gender identity or do not wish to prescribe to gender classifications. Gender neutral housing is available to students with no regard to gender or sexual identification; therefore, students who are uncomfortable with a same-sex roommate or do not wish to have a same-sex roommate also have more housing options to choose from.
Gender neutral housing will be offered in Pinney and Grasso Halls. Students interested in the Gender Neutral Housing Option must be able to fill an entire apartment (4 people in Grasso, 5 people in Pinney). All students must be eligible to participate in room selection (deposit paid on time, registered for 12+ credits for the next semester), and will participate in the regular room selection process as a full group. A supplemental application/contract for Gender Neutral Housing is required.
Substance Free & Wellness Experience -
Students wishing to have an academic focus through healthy decisions while living on campus may want to try the Substance Free and Wellness Experience option. This section will host a community committed to leading a holistic, healthy lifestyle free of alcohol, nicotine, and other drugs, and promotes students' involvement in and responsibility for their own education. This section will also program with the CHOICES, Health Services, and Counseling Centers. Read more about this housing option here. If you are interested in applying for this option, please fill out the application found here.
