Alain J Picard, a fine artist and portrait painter who specializes in pastel, owns Picard Studio in Southbury.  He is a member of the Connecticut Pastel Society and the Portrait Society of America, and has won numerous awards throughout the New England region. He won the Best Portfolio Award in 2009 at “The Art of the Portrait”, the annual Portrait Society of America conference in Washington DC.
