Jeanne B. D'Angelo '94, '77
BS, MS Music Education
Jeanne B. D’Angelo has served for the last three years as a Music Teacher-in-Residence (TIR) for the Connecticut State Department of the Music Education’s BEST Program. This program oversees the licensure of all new music educators in Connecticut by providing support and assessing teacher performance in the second year of teaching. While serving as TIR, D’Angelo also worked as an Educational Consultant for the Region 15 School District, where she developed and implemented an innovative program for new teacher induction, music curriculum, and planned professional development. Her music teaching career in Connecticut spans some 25 years. She is currently the Band Director at Memorial Middle School in Middlebury, Conn. This Middle School Band was chosen in 2001 to perform at the All-State Connecticut Music Education Association’s (CMEA) Conference. In 1994, D’Angelo was named CMEA’s Teacher of the Year.
D’ Angelo graduated Magna Cum Laude from Western Connecticut State
University with a B.S. in 1974 and an M.S. in Music Education in 1977.
Jeanne is completing her Sixth Year Certificate in Educational
Administration from Southern Connecticut State University. She lives in
Waterbury with her husband, Robert. Jeanne has two daughters, Jennifer, a
marketing analyst at Mereck & Co., and Katherine, a string teacher for the
Greenwich Public Schools.
