Technology Beyond the Classroom
WestConnduit, WestConn's campus-wide portal, provides a more streamlined approach to retrieving information without having to authenticate multiple times into various campus systems. For example, WestConnduit is fully integrated with Banner Student Services allowing students automatic access to their class schedule, grades, unofficial transcript, Financial Aid information, plus much more. Students and faculty also have access to their BlackBoard courses without having to log into the BlackBoard course management system separately. In the future, the portal will even link directly to students' University e-mail accounts without separate authentication.
It gets even better, because institutions can personalize portal content to the role, interests, and needs of individual end users. Students, along with receiving campus-wide announcements, receive personalized targeted announcements based on their student role (ex: Psychology major). WestConnduit will also enable students to set up or join groups based on special interest (Debate Society, Chemistry club, etc.). The Group Studio allows group leaders and members to post information and partake in discussions specific to the group.
WestConnduit enables the University3 to communicate more effectively with students, faculty, and staff. It is an integral part of the University’s plan to consolidate information and create a more unified digital campus.
Banner is WestConn's enterprise resource planning system (ERP) which integrates and assists in managing administrative functions such as Human Resources, Finance, Alumni, Admissions, Registration, and Financial Aid. The Banner Self Service Web products let faculty and students obtain information and perform various functions from any computer with Internet access.
Some of the features that Banner offers students are as follows:
- Pay your bills with credit card
- Conduct degree audits
- Retrieve information about your academic standing,
- Verify/print your course schedule,
