WESTERN CONNECTICUT STATE UNIVERSITY
 BACCALAUREATE SOCIAL WORK PROGRAM

ASSESSMENT OF STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES

The WCSU Department of Social Work has evaluated student outcomes for nine competency areas and 31 practice behaviors as specified by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).  The data shown below indicate that for academic year 2015-16, 100% our seniors scored within the Competent to Highly Competent Ranges.  No students fell within the Developing Competency or Marginally Competent or Lacks Competency Range.

All Council on Social Work Education programs measure and report student learning outcomes.  Students are assessed on their mastery of the competencies that comprise the accreditation standards of the Council on Social Work Education. These competencies are dimensions of social work practice that all social workers are expected to master during their professional training. A measurement benchmark of 85% of students performing at a Competent or Highly Competent range is set by the social work program for each competency.
