Westside Campus Center
Gov. M. Jodi Rell led the celebration with 300 students, faculty and visitors as Western Connecticut State University opened its new Campus Center on the Westside campus on Jan. 23, 2007.
The university planned a full day of events to christen the building, which joins three residence halls, a classroom building and athletic facilities on the Westside campus.
The Campus Center features a full-service cafeteria and dining area, a game room, cardio fitness center, multi-purpose meeting and conference rooms, student activity space, lounge areas and other facilities to enhance campus life.
"Our new Campus Center will be the soul of our Westside campus — a place for students to meet, eat, socialize and fully experience college life,” said WestConn President James W. Schmotter. “This new building is more evidence that WestConn is growing, thriving and doing more for students than ever before.”
