Western social work program earns continued accreditation
DANBURY, CONN. — The Western Connecticut State University Department of Social Work has received reaffirmation of accreditation for its bachelor’s degree in social work program from the Council on Social Work Education.
The reaffirmation, which extends to February 2021, was based on a review of the department’s self-study, the COA Letter of Instructions and site visit and response. The CSWE is the sole accrediting agency for social work education in the country. This program accreditation demonstrates WCSU’s continued academic quality.
CSWE is a nonprofit national association representing more than 2,500 individual members, as well as graduate and undergraduate programs of professional social work education. Founded in 1952, it is a partnership of educational and professional institutions, social welfare agencies, and private citizens.
