Vice President Biden visits WCSU


DANBURY, CONN. — Vice President Joe Biden appeared at Western Connecticut State University as the keynote speaker at a conference on issues involving gun violence and mental health.
The conference, hosted by U.S. Sens. Richard Blumenthal and Chris Murphy and U.S. Rep. Elizabeth Esty, attracted 400 residents, state and local politicians, mental health experts and faith leaders.
The discussions focused on ways to reduce gun violence, protect children, and make our communities safer.
After the conference, Biden met with families of the Dec. 14 shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School as well as survivors of other gun violence in the state.
